Lake Monroe · 2026 Season
Sometimes you have to do things you'd rather not.
Winterizing your boat is one of them.
Whether you just want freeze protection or you'd like her pampered, The Dam Boathouse has you covered. We're here to make it simple.
Getting it here
Bring it, or we'll come get it
Turnaround
Most boats in 2–3 days
Storage season
Nov 1 – Apr 30
Whatever you run, we winterize it
Every boat gets the same base service. What changes is how many systems on board hold water — which is why we price it the way we do, rather than quoting one number and hoping.
Outboard
Portables to 400hp
Two-stroke and four-stroke. Lower unit, fuel system, gear lube, fogging.
Sterndrive / IO
Alpha, Bravo, SX, DP, OMC
Inboard
V-drives and tow boats
Jet & PWC
Yamaha, Sea-Doo
Sterndrive owners — read this one
Don’t cut it fine. I/Os are where freeze damage actually happens, and we need your boat at least three days before the first hard freeze to get it done properly.
Nobody can tell you when that freeze is coming. A mild October can turn overnight, and there’s no date we can put on this page that would be honest. Getting it here in time is on you — and the boats that get hurt are the ones that waited on the forecast.
Basic or full — here's the difference
Every winterize includes
- Fuel stabilized
- Started and run
- Block and manifolds drained
- Flushed with antifreeze
- Engine oil level checked
- Greased where needed
Full service adds
- Oil and filter changed
- Gear lube changed
Sterndrive service shown. Outboards, inboards and jets follow the same basic / full split — pick yours in the estimator for the exact list and price.
Wrap it, store it, or take it home
One drop-off in the fall, one pickup in the spring. Storage runs the season — November 1 through April 30, not by the month.
Shrink wrap only
Wrapped here, stored at your place
Outside storage
In our yard, camera-monitored
Shrink wrap + storage
Wrapped and stored in our yard
Fully enclosed
Inside, out of the weather. Limited spots — please call or text for availability.

Monroe Dam through Lake Lemon and Painted Hills
Fresh water and A/C systems
Anything else on board that holds water
Winter is when the big jobs get done
Pontoon remodels
New decking, flooring, furniture, helm. Tired toon in November, near enough new in April.
Fiberglass repair & correction
Cracks, gouges, dock rash and oxidation cut back and brought good again.
Ceramic coating
Hull and topsides sealed so next season's grime rinses off instead of grinding in.
Whatever you've been putting off
Electronics, upholstery, trailer work, the thing that's bugged you all summer. Ask.
How drop-off works
No appointment to book and no time slot to keep. We’d rather you came when it genuinely suits you.
First
Bring it when you're done
Whenever you've had your last day on the water. Pull around back and park it with the other boats — you don't need to find anyone first. Leave the keys with us; we can't start it, run it or move it around the lot without them.
THEN
We work through them as they land
Most boats are finished in two or three days. A hard cold snap or a run of rain can stretch that, but the crew moves the lot fast.
Finally
Pay however suits you
Boat's done, we email you an invoice. Pay it and pick up whenever it works — including after hours. Most people find that the easiest way, but tell us if you'd rather do it differently.
If we’re coming to get it
Pulling off a lift, out of a slip or off a ramp, we need everything it takes to move your boat without phoning you from the water. Have this sorted when you arrange the haul-out:
- Keys — ignition, and anything else that locks
- Gate and dock codes — any combo, key card or fob we'll need to reach it
- Exactly where it is — which ramp or marina, dock and slip number, which lift
- Whatever else it takes — lift remote, cover keys, where the trailer's parked, any quirk only you know about
What happens come spring
Worth knowing before you drop it off, so there are no surprises in April.
De-winterize and spring start-up
Wrapping pulled, systems flushed and brought back to life
Launch back in the water
Same rate as the haul-out you paid in the fall
$5 a day, starting seven days after we finish.
That’s for the boat we’ve had no word about. Tell us your plan and we’ll work with it — even if you need longer than a week.
This isn’t about the $5. A boat we can’t plan around has to stay reachable, which eats a lane we could be parking three more in. Give us a date and it stops being a problem. Boats staying for winter storage are exempt — that’s what you’re already paying for.
We’ll call you in March to sort out a date before the ramps get busy.
Find out what yours costs
Pick your engine, tick what you want done, and watch the total add up. Takes about a minute, and there's nothing to fill in until you've seen the number.
